Before becoming a coach, I spent many years in hospitality and retail management. I even became the first female manager at DFS Furniture.

From the outside, my career looked successful. But deep down, I knew something was missing.

In 2012, I slipped a disc in my back whilst sitting in my ergonomically designed office chair. The irony wasn’t lost on me! I was forced to take 13 weeks off work, and it gave me time to reflect on a lifestyle that had become all about work, with very little room for anything else.

Then, in 2013, a tree literally fell on my head whilst I was on holiday in Prague. (Yes, really!) That was the wake-up call I couldn’t ignore. The experience changed the direction of my career and ultimately led me to create my coaching business. 

Life is too short to spend your working life feeling unfulfilled. I didn’t want to be remembered as “the woman who sold sofas”. I wanted to help other people create fulfilling careers too.

So I left retail management and became The Dream Job Coach.

Today, I run my business from my home office in South Devon, near where I grew up. The flexibility, purpose and work-life balance I was searching for are now part of my everyday life.
