Dream Job Blog

Welcome to the Dream Job Blog, your friendly corner of the internet for honest, practical, and encouraging advice about building a career you genuinely enjoy. If work has started to feel a bit flat, frustrating, or like you’re permanently running just to stand still, you’re in exactly the right place.

The Dream Job Blog is for you if you know you have more to offer but are not quite sure how to unlock it yet. You might feel stuck in a role that no longer fits, overlooked for opportunities you know you could do brilliantly, or quietly dreaming about a change that feels exciting and terrifying in equal measure. Perhaps you are actively job hunting, polishing application after application, or maybe you are still in the thinking phase, asking yourself, “Is this really it?”

Wherever you are on that journey, my Dream Job Blog is designed to meet you there.

Inside these posts, you will find clear, down-to-earth guidance on the things that often feel confusing, overwhelming, or unnecessarily complicated when it comes to careers. I cover practical topics like CV writing, job applications, LinkedIn profiles, interviews, and personal branding, without the fluff or corporate jargon.

You will also find posts about clarity, mindset, confidence, energy, and self-belief, because finding work you love is not just about ticking boxes on a job description, it is about how you show up, what you believe is possible, and how you value yourself.

I write the Dream Job Blog as a companion to my career and business coaching work. Many of the ideas you will find here are inspired by real conversations with real people, people who are capable, thoughtful, and hardworking, yet feel under-appreciated or unsure how to take their next step. If you have ever thought, “I’m good at what I do, so why isn’t this working?” you are not alone, and you are certainly not doing anything wrong.

One of my core beliefs is that most people are not lacking talent or potential; they are lacking clarity, confidence, and a strategy that actually suits them. That is why these posts are practical and realistic. You will not find advice that expects you to become someone else, shout louder than everyone around you, or follow a one-size-fits-all formula. Instead, the focus is on helping you understand what makes you valuable, how to communicate that clearly, and how to navigate the modern job market with intention rather than exhaustion.

The Dream Job Blog is also a place to remind you that careers are allowed to evolve. Wanting more does not make you ungrateful. Feeling restless does not mean you have failed. And changing direction does not mean you have wasted time. Every experience you have had, even the frustrating ones, has given you skills, insight, and perspective that can be used in ways you might not have considered yet.

You might dip into these posts when you are actively job searching, or you might read them quietly during your tea break while you build the confidence to make a change. There is no right way to use this space. Take what you need, when you need it. Bookmark the posts that resonate, come back to them later, or share them with someone who might be feeling the same way you are.

I also see this blog as a conversation, not a lecture. You are very welcome to comment on the posts, share your thoughts, or ask questions. If something sparks a “that’s me” moment, or if you would like support tailored to your own situation, you can always reach out to me directly via email. You do not have to figure this out on your own.

Above all, the Dream Job Blog exists to give you hope, clarity, and momentum. Work takes up a huge portion of our lives, so it matters that it feels aligned, energising, and worthwhile. You deserve a career that plays to your strengths, respects your values, and gives you something to look forward to, not just something to get through.

So have a browse, take a breath, and settle in. Let’s start shifting things so Mondays feel less like a countdown and more like an opportunity. Getting excited about work again is not unrealistic; it is entirely possible, and I would love to help you get there.

A professional woman turns away from her colleagues who are laughing in the background. Are they having banter, or is it bullying in the workplace? asks Louise Jenner, The Dream Job Coach.

Banter or Bullying in the Workplace

There’s a fine line between banter and/or bullying in the workplace. “Only take the mickey out of people you like, Lou. That way, everyone knows it’s a joke.”Wise words from my dad. And he had a point. Banter, that playful
